Gerard is an Australian pianist and composer, with experience as a repetiteur, accompanist, recital pianist, and orchestral pianist.

Following the completion of his A.Mus.A and Diploma of Music, Gerard received the Tertiary Music Scholarship to study a Bachelor of Music at Newcastle Conservatorium in 2015. Double Majoring in Piano and Composition, Gerard is now completing his B. Mus with Honours, researching the orchestral piano repertoire. Since 2013, Gerard has been Principal Keyboard for Symphony Central Coast, with performances including Shostakovich’s Symphony No.5, Martinu’s Symphony No.1, and Holst’s The Planets. Gerard has premiered solo piano and chamber works by Christopher Pantelidis, Cassandra Danckert, and Aidan Charles Rosa. In 2017, Gerard was appointed Associate Artist Repetiteur with Pacific Opera, and the accompanist for Tuggerah Lakes Choral Society, with other highlights including Carnival of the Animals with University of Newcastle Orchestra, repetiteur for Menotti’s opera The Old Maid and the Thief, and 1st Place in the Taree Eisteddfod Piano Championship for the second time.
As a composer, Gerard’s music has been performed by the Vancouver Chamber Choir and featured on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune program for the 15 Second Harp Project. In August 2016, Gerard co-wrote the music for a multidisciplinary performance at the United Nations Winter Youth Assembly in New York, collaborating with a dozen other students from the University of Newcastle. Recently, Gerard was the recipient of a Bouddi Arts Foundation Grant and has commenced teaching piano at Intuition Music School, Tuggerah.
